to their 4star, Bed & Breakfast Accommodation at the Old Radnor Barn, Talgarth. Designated a grade 2 listed building by Cadw in 1998, the barn dates back nearly 300 years and retains many of its original features.

All rooms are tastefully decorated, having the benifit of en-suite or private facilities. They are equipped with a modern sofa, flat screen TV, fridge, additional electric heater, hairdryer, first-aid kit and a courtesy tray which includes: tea/coffee making facilities, buscuits, bottled water, fruit bowl together with a selection of fruit and herbal teas.

Situated on the western outskirts of the market town of Talgarth, the barn, not so long ago was an overnight resting place for stallions traveling to stud on the Great Western Railway. The railway has now gone but the small market town of Talgarth nestles peacefully in the foot hills of the Black Mountains.

Opportunities exist for most outdoor activities: walking, climbing, cycling, mountain-biking, pot-holing, horse riding, gliding, hand-gliding, together with the full range of water sports including fishing, kayaking canoeing, sailing and windsurfing in the reservoirs and rivers of the area. The magical and tranquil lake of Llangorse (the largest natural lake in Wales) lies three miles to the west. The river Wye is only three miles to the east at Glassbury while the river Usk lies six miles to the west at Brecon.

Talgarth itself, is one of the five Brecon Beacons National Park designated cycle hubs with five routes, all of which start within 50 metres of the barn. They are: Talgarth Green, Talgarth Red 1, Talgarth Red 2 and Talgath Black. Whether you are a beginner or a more experienced mountain biker, whether you prefer to ride, or carry your bike. Talgarth is is the place for you!

Talgarth also proudly boasts it's very own nature reserve at Pwll-y-Wrach. On a leisurely stroll through the woods, you can absorb its calming influence while listening to the gentle running water of the river Ennig. You will find a variety of birds and wildlife, including otters, badgers, look out for our very own pair of nesting red kites. At your desination, you can marvel at the forty foot waterfall. Dip your toes in and cool off, shut your eyes and let the world and its troubles pass you by.
