We offer a drop off service for you to walk/navigate back to Beili Helyg, from Pont Nedd fechan (a waterfall walk); Dolygaer(the Taff Trail); and Neuadd reservoir (over peaks of Cribyn, Pen y Fan, Corn Du). Caving, cycling, canoeing, climbing, bird watching and horse riding are nearby and fishing is available at rivers and reservoirs for coarse, game and wild trout. Wild fish only at the atmospheric secluded Ystradfellte reservoir.
There is rich geology in this limestone area with waterfalls, caves, shake holes, swallow holes, limestone pavements and evidence of the dinas fault.
Also there are many prehistoric & historic sites to visit. Walk Sarn Helen in the footsteps of the romans, and visit the impressive standing stones of Maen Madoc & Maen Llia.
Many visitors exploring their ancestry visit the local Mormon church at Merthyr Tydfi who have a multitude of records.
Relaxing and general lethargy are also recommended. So why not sit in the guest lounge and read a novel with your toes pointed toward a log burning fire with your favourite tipple (we provide free corkage). Or on a warmer day sit out on one of our benches in the woods.
Packed lunches & evening meals available.

News & Special Offers
This winter has been very cold and like the rest of the country we have had quite a lot of snow. The scenery is fabulous but getting anywhere is taking a little longer. We managed a moonlit walk up Penyfan on New Years Eve, arriving just after the change of year, but in time to see the fireworks being set off in Brecon. The almost clear night with a full moon on the sparkly snow was completely breathtaking, and we shall be doing it again without a doubt..
