The Brecon Beacons National Park - Croeso i'r Bannau Brycheiniog!

Dan y Parc Farm Bed and Breakfast

Dan y Parc four star guest house is a 17th century farmhouse, set in wood and farmland, nestling between the Cambrian and Black Mountains, three miles from the historic market town of Llandovery on the western edge of the Brecon Beacons.

Our comfortably furnished guest house is ideally situated and provides the perfect base for exploring the beautiful counties of Carmarthenshire and Powys, and the Brecon Beacon National Park. There are many attractions in the locality, such as RSPB Dinas, Lynn Brianne Reservoir, Carreg Cennen Castle, Newton House and Dinefwr Park, and Dolaucothi Gold Mines. The Royal Welsh Showground is also a short distance away.

The area is ideal for all types of activities, whether it be walking, cycling, horse riding, carriage driving, bird spotting, or sightseeing.

A spacious beamed lounge, with a log fire, is available for guests to use at any time of the day and is the perfect place in which to relax after a busy day's activity, or you can choose to read a book, play a board game, or watch a movie from the large library of DVDs available.

We have two double bedrooms, and a twin bedded room, all of which have either an en suite bathroom, or shower room. A single bedroom is also available with private adjacent bathroom; this can be joined with either a double or twin room to make a family suite. All bedrooms have tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryers, digital colour television and there is free wi-fi throughout the house.

A substantial breakfast (using our own free range eggs and produce sourced locally) is served in our light and airy breakfast room. Vegetarian options, or special dietary needs, can be catered for on request.

A two or three course evening meal can be provided by prior arrangement, again using ingredients sourced locally and our own home grown vegetables when available. Alternatively there are many places to eat in Llandovery which is three miles from Dan y Parc.

.

A woodland walk, with a natural waterfall, leads to the top of the hill behind the house, where glorious views of the Brecon Beacons can be seen. Red Kites and Buzzards are regularly seen landing in the ancient oak trees which stand on the hillside.

There are plenty of places to enjoy a picnic, perhaps have a bbq, or to just sit, relax and take in the spectacular views.

Why not bring your horse on holiday? We have four large rubber matted stables, together with a turnout paddock and direct access to spectacular outriding (or carriage driving) in the Crychan and Halfway Forests, leading through to the Epynt Way (see website link). A large car park is available for storing horse boxes.

The Crychan and Halfway Forests also provide miles of marked routes for walkers and cyclists. (Bicycles can be hired locally.)

Well behaved dogs are welcome. We have dogs ourselves, together with horses, Welsh badger faced sheep and chickens.

If you're in need of a holiday, want to experience the unrivalled scenery of Mid Wales and the many local attractions it has to offer, or if you're just passing through and looking to get a good night's sleep, we offer the ideal retreat.
