Henllys Lodge is a 4-bedroomed detached house, sleeping 8, in a rural location with views of the Welsh hills of the Upper Twyi Valley on the western edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. This former lodge house has been rebuilt and completely renovated to a very high standard as an eco-friendly and allergy-friendly property - a comfortable and relaxing place to stay.

The Lodge has achieved a 5 star rating from Visit Wales, Walkers Welcome and Cyclists Welcome. It is awaiting a grading with the Green Tourism Business Scheme. Underfloor heating and hot water are provided through solar hot water panels and ground source heat pumps. The house is insulated with sheep’s wool. It is luxurious, comfortable and peaceful.

The ground floor is open plan. There is a matted lobby entrance where coats and boots can be left. Floors throughout are of oak. The large kitchen/dining room has all modern energy efficient appliances, such as Rangemaster cooker with two ovens and grill, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and condenser drier, and all the cooking equipment and utensils you will need. There is a downstairs WC. The living room has in its centre a double-sided wood-burning stove which is cosy and comfortable in the colder months. There is a new flatscreen television which has freeview channels, a DVD player with a selection of DVD's, a CD player with I-pod dock, table football, a large selection of games and puzzles, and books including guides of the area with daylight lamps for reading. There is also wifi internet access in the property, allowing guests to research the area on the internet, use email and even study or work!

The kitchen opens out onto a slate patio area with garden furniture and Weber barbecue. There are flower beds planted with native plants flowering at different times of the year and a lawn leading down to a pond, teeming with wildlife including fish, frogs, newts, water lilies, etc. Fill up the bird feeder to watch all sorts of birds, including nuthatches, woodpeckers, finches and tits. Red kites and buzzards soar overhead. Upstairs there are four bedrooms: three double rooms, two of which have beautiful mosaic-tiled ensuite wetrooms, and a fourth bedroom with full-sized single bunk beds. There is a separate bathroom for the two bedrooms which do not have the ensuite wetrooms and for those who prefer baths.

There is off-road parking for 3+ cars adjacent to the property and a locked shed to accommodate bicycles. On arrival there is a meet and greet service and awaiting you will be a Welcome Basket of organic and/or local foods. We include allergy-friendly bedding, bedlinen and towels for bathing, and tea-towels. There are no additional charges for heating. Logs are provided for the woodburning stove. There is a strict no smoking and no pets policy, either with guests or visitors, to try and maintain the property as allergy-friendly.

Carmarthenshire has fantastic landscapes and lots to see and do and is known as 'the Garden of Wales'. There are gardens and nature parks, castles, houses, forests and hills to look at and explore, either on foot, by bike or car. Llandovery is a traditional Welsh market town with a historical heritage dating back to Roman times. Llandeilo is only twenty minutes away and offers some upmarket shops and restaurants also. We are on the western edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Many outdoor pursuits are available in the area, including walks, trails and cycle routes.
