Chef in the Freezer is a family owned business offering a range of menus and products we use the best fresh produce from local producers where possible to create a range of wholesome chef prepared dishes.
Chef in the Freezer is a family run company based in Abergavenny. We can provide a range of menus and products aimed at people who enjoy good food but haven’t got the time to make it. The company is owned by Mark and Claire Coulton and has been trading since March 2005. Mark has over 20 years experience as a chef and met Claire in the early 1990’s while working for Franco Taruschio at the celebrated Walnut Tree Inn.
About five years ago we identified that there was a gap in the market for a company providing good quality meals from local produce as an alternative to the mass produced meals sold in supermarkets. It was then that we developed the idea and with the contacts Mark had with local suppliers, started preparing a range of dishes using the best produce.
We have created a supply chain of the best quality ingredients and products from suppliers in Wales and the surrounding counties of Herefordshire and Gloucestershire. Our philosophy is to support the local economy where possible so if we can’t buy a product from a local producer we will buy it from an independent local retailer. We sell our products from our kitchens at Castle meadows park in Abergavenny and also by courier to the rest of the UK.

that specialises in other catering services and can offer buffets, dinner parties and children’s party food delivered directly to your door. We cater for weddings, Christenings, parties, hog roasts, BBQ’s and funerals.
For really special occasions you can even hire Mark to come and cook your dinner party for you. For larger functions we can now provide bar services and can usually provide all the equipment needed. We can supply all linen, crockery, cutlery & glasses for functions up to 200 people.

We are currently fitting our new shop area at Castle Meadows park.As well as stocking our range of ready prepared meals "THE FOOD WORKSHOP" will also have daily specials,homemade relishes and onion marmalade and a selection of local produce such as icecream,honey and local apple juice.We will be opening at the beginning of March 2011.At present items can be pre-ordered and collected or we can deliver.
