2010 - The Year of the Giants
Hay on Fire is well known for its fabulous, fantastic, eagerly-awaited spectacular fire show to end all fire shows at the Warren, Hay-on-Wye, with spectacular theatricals, fire trails, fire sculptures, fire dragons, fireworks, and general fiery fantasy following a magnificent procession of thousands through the town.

Schools Procession of Giants
3pm The Market Square
A parade of giants fresh from the imaginations of local schools, accompanied by Taiko drummers in the Market Square and Jack selling Daisy the Cow. Children, families and cheering crowds welcome.

Halloween Parade
6.30pm The Market Square
Join the torchlight procession through town with lanterns, giants, live music, dancers and street performers. Parade down to the Warren to see the spectacular fire show, fire performers and fireworks.

A fantastically fiery mix of magic, music and merriment. A wicker giant, golden apples, Fiery Jack and the biggest beanstalk youve ever seen! Fire as youve never experienced it before.
Firemens Ball
8.30pm11.55pm Community Centre. Tickets £7 (under 16s £5)
Make it a night to remember and dance All Hallows Eve away with Dirty Ray and indie band With Flying Colours.

Workshops 28th-30th
Workshops lie at the very heart of Hay on Fire, allowing everyone the opportunity to contribute towards this spectacular event. Taking place in schools during the autumn term and in Hay during the half term, we hope they inspire and involve all members of the community.
Most workshops are unticketed to allow maximum opportunity for everyone to be involved, but please bear in mind that the venues have fixed capacities, so turn up early to make sure you get a place!
All under-12s must be accompanied.
Taiko Drumming
Join James Barrow, the most experienced and prolific teacher of Taiko Drumming in the UK, for what promises to be an intensely energising experience. Learn the art of Japanese Taiko Drumming and discover the rich heritage that lies behind it.
The Taiko Drumming workshop sessions are unticketed, but you must obtain a ticket for the Taiko performance sessions. You can book these tickets for free through the Hay on Fire box office.
Dance and Street Performance
Join the Red Kite Theatre Company in these unique workshops on theatrical street performance. Discover the secrets behind one of the oldest forms of theatre and create a performance for all to see at the evening Hay on Fire parade.
Lantern-making
Join the wonderful Lucy Jardine and her helpers in these drop-in sessions to make a beautiful lantern for the evening Hay on Fire procession. Tissue and willow have never looked so stunning.
Giant-making
Ballyhoo Arts is coming to Hay on Fire ready to help you create some awesome Giant puppets for the parades. Let your imaginations run wild and come and get stuck in.
