Saturday 4 September
Canal, Tramroad & Punchbowl Walk
10.30-15.00. Free entry.
Guided Walk
Find out about the fascinating history of the area on this circular walk around the Blorenge using paths, canal towpaths and disused tramways and railway lines.
Length, Grade & Ascent: 7m / 11km, Moderate, 350m.

12th Century Physicians to 21st Century Graziers
13:00-16:00. Free entry.
Family Friendly Guided Walk
Come and explore the magical landscape of Mynydd Myddfai and learn about the people who have lived and worked in this special place, passing their skills down through generations - from Twelfth Century Physicians to 21st Century Graziers. Learn about the conservation of this environmentally sensitive landscape, experience a breathtaking 360 degree views of the Black Mountain and visit the sacred Physician’s Well on this enchanting circular walk.

A Chapel, a Church and a Canal: Govilon’s Heritage
10:30-12:30. Free entry.
Family Friendly Guided Walk
Held in conjunction with Govilon Heritage
Join the Reverend Peter Baines in this leisurely stroll along the beautiful Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. Enjoy a guided tour of Llanwenarth Baptist Chapel, built in 1695, the oldest Baptist chapel in Wales and Christ Church, the first church built in Govilon. Discover the stories and people behind these historic places of worship in this captivating walk.
Length, Grade & Ascent: 1.9m / 3km, Easy
Meet: British Waterways car park, Govilon Wharf (SO 272137).
Leaders: Rob Vaughan and Frances Baines (local historians) and National Park Warden Clive Williams.

A town walk, visiting sites of distinction, discovering Brecon’s fascinating past and residents of renown. No dogs please.
Length / Grade: Approximately 2 miles / Access for all.
Meet: Canal Basin, Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon. Small charge for parking.

A Mysterious Valley and a Medieval Message
14.00-17.00. Free entry.
Guided Walk. Geopark Event.
What is the message concealed on the inscribed stone hidden (and wrongly located on the map) within the mysterious Criban valley; an area rich in archaeological remains? This intriguing walk takes you there and also to the site of a nearby iron-age settlement before an enchanting return to the village of Pontsticill beside the reservoir.
Length, Grade & Ascent: 5m / 8km, Moderate, 240m.
Meet: In the Red Cow, Pontsticill (SO 057114).

Up the Allt
10:00-13:30. Free entry.
Guided Walk
A circular walk up through woodland looking at the National Parks’ work on the public rights of way to the top of the Allt, used by Iron Age settlers and Romans onwards, for one of the best viewpoints in the National Park, followed by an opportunity to lunch by Llangors Lake. Bring a packed lunch if you would like to do this!
Length, Grade & Ascent: 5.3m / 8.5km, Moderate, 230m.
Meet: Llangasty Village Hall (SO 122257). No charge.
