Walk - Llandovery

@ Starting Point - Outside the TIC Heritage Centre

A gentle walk around Llandovery

The Llandovery Walk: Saturday 24th September.

The walk should take not more than two hours and will be led by Glyn Evans

Participants should meet at 10 30 am outside the Tourist Information Office. This walk is suitable for children.

The walk will take us first to the Castle mound, and then along Castle St and through the grounds of Llandovery College.

We will then call at the refurbished Railway Station before proceeding along Towy Avenue to the River Towy itself.

Here we will follow the riverside path upstream past Tonn Farm and up to Dolauhirion Bridge, We will then take the path past Dolauhirion Farm, walk alongside a stream, and then go over the railway crossing up to the church of Llanfair-ar-y-Bryn.

A short visit to this church will be possible. We will then return to the town centre, passing the old Workhouse, now the Doctors’ Surgery, and Ysgol Rhys Prichard, the Primary School, on the way.
