Introducing a new event which, will take place at Sweet Lamb Rally Complex on Sunday 3rd October 2010 - The DMack Grippa Tyres 'Ultimate Rally Challenge'.
Open to drivers only and limited to 40 cars, entries will most definitely be at a premium. To make entries even more desirable, a small number have been set by, at invitation, attracting some of the best known competitors – we already have some signed up!

The famous Sweet Lamb Rally Complex offers so much to both competitor and spectator alike, with a flowing route, open hairpins, yump’s and of course the spectacular ‘water splash’ where Mikko Hirvonen came to grief in 2008 on the Wales Rally GB!
There will be a maximum of four classes with two categories open to Ford Escorts only and a further two open classes of up to 2000cc or 1600cc.

Event Format – A four mile stage run 6 times - The Main Event, and a final 7th stage for the Top 10 finishers resulting in the 'Ultimate' Winner. There will be 3 morning runs, with entrants taking the best time of three timed runs. In the afternoon a further 3 runs in the opposite direction will take place, again each competitor choosing the best time. Accumulated times to make an aggregate score will be the final class result of the day for each competitor! Then, the top ten overall competitors will have a final stage to contest (Stage 7) with the fastest driver being the Ultimate Overall Winner of the Sweet Lamb - Rally Time Trial!

How did this all come about – In the late 1970’s, Esgair Dafydd Forest staged a highly popular event which attracted the top drivers of the day – we aim to rekindle the flavour of those heady days but today at the best Spectator venue in the UK – The Sweet Lamb Rally Complex!

Enter NOW! We look forward to your entry, it’s so EASY! All YOU have to do is down load the Entry Form from the web site NOW, fill it in, attach your remittance and send to the Event Secretary –
It’s that simple! A reserve entry list will be opened as we do expect to be over subscribed so it’s important to get your entry in early!

It is estimated that the walk will take around three hours.

The route we have chosen follows an authentic Drovers’ Trail eastwards and upwards from the hamlet of Cwrt-y-Cadno (Foxes’ Court) over the open moorland plateau of Mynydd Mallaen and then down to the village of Cilycwm (Corner of the Valley). Cwrt-y-Cadno was a gathering point, where smaller herds would join together into one big unit of up to four hundred beasts for the arduous drive across the mountain. In the street at Cilycwm the pebble-lined gutters where the animals would slake their thirst on arrival may still be seen: at the end of our journey, walkers will hopefully have time themselves for a refreshing glass of ale and a ploughman’s in the Neuadd Arms.
