Annette Yates
silver jewellery that's distinctive, individual and hand made here in Monmouthshire
I design and create silver jewellery. Each piece is unique, so you can be sure that there will be no other quite like it.
Much of my work has a distinctly Celtic feel. While my designs are often influenced by my Welsh roots and the beautiful Monmouthshire countryside, my inspiration can just as easily come from simple shapes and textures, and of course YOU, the individual for whom I'm making.

As well as necklaces, bangles, bracelets, rings, brooches and earrings, I also love to create unique keepsakes that commemorate special occasions, such as a birthday, new baby, christening, graduation or wedding.
And for men there are cufflinks, rings and chains - all handmade by me.

I first began making silver jewellery in my student days, prior to an exciting career in food writing. Then a few years ago I met jeweller Frances Lester, picked up my tools again and started attending her workshops at the Court Cupboard Craft Gallery, just outside Abergavenny. The rest, as they say, is history!

News & Special Offers
It's all-systems-go for the Abergavenny Food Festival on September 18th & 19th. Once again I will be joining other local makers in the Made in Monmouthshire Shop. Yes, I said 'shop'! This year we can be found in Frogmore Street, opposite HSBC Bank, next door to the Principality. See you all there!

Well, the National Eisteddfod of Wales at Ebbw Vale was a huge succes and the Made in Monmouthshire Stand was hugely popular. Visitors were on the look-out for something different, something unique. Whether it was hand-crafted jewellery (including mine I'm delighted to say), hand-woven throws, original paintings, prints, bespoke metalwork, or creations in wood - they found it.

I am now a proud member of the Black Mountains Circle Ltd, which means you can see a range of my latest designs at the beautiful Court Cupboard Craft Gallery - an old granary at New Court Farm, Llantilio Pertholey, near Abergavenny.

Currently I'm having fun making:
> a lovespoon pendant to hang on a chain
> a long, lightweight chain similar to the one above
> a 'Celtic Twist' necklace.

More recent commisions include:
> a 50th birthday gift from daughter to mum - a beautiful bangle with a celtic feel.
> a birthday surprise for a teenager - a cute little pendant bearing her initial.
> matching bracelet and necklace for a local bride, and necklaces for her four bridesmaids (all the same design but each one personalised so they were different).
> a silver wedding band for the groom.
