Kwong Kuen Shan

I paint Welsh and Chinese scenes, cats, flowers, and many other subjects with traditional Chinese techniques.

I am a Chinese brush painter originally from Hong Kong. I made my home in Monmouthshire many years ago. I paint and exhibit, as well as teaching and have more recently started to write.

Since moving to Monmouthshire, I have been artistically inspired by my Welsh surroundings. I now apply Chinese techniques to Welsh subjects, painting everything from seashores to streams, crags to castles. I have exhibited widely.

I have had two books published in UK, The Cat and The Tao and The Philosopher Cat, combining my paintings with classic Chinese wisdom. The books were also published in USA, and in 12 other languages.

My latest work is a book on Chinese philosophy, with my own illustrations.

I sell my prints from my original work printed with Canon ChromaLife100 long life ink on 240g acid free card at my website.
